We aren't currently using AI but will consider. Will be interested in policies. Good afternoon,
My apologies for the delay in getting this listserv started. The platform we're using had some options for mass subscriptions that I didn't understand, which caused prior attempts to fail. Thanks to the intervention of our helpdesk, you should now be able to email libtech@pld.apls.state.al.us to post to the list.
By way of getting things rolling, I am curious about the use of AI in libraries:
- Does your library use AI? If so, for what tasks? - Does your library have policies covering staff and/or patron use of AI in the library? - What should a policy for staff and patron use of AI include?
I think it would be helpful to collect examples of uses and policies for sharing with others. APLS is unable to take an institutional stance on this while the state determines its own policies. However, collecting examples from or creating samples with help from library staff in the field sidesteps this difficulty.
